This blog post is a two part-er for the most fun reason. Early in the Fall of 2023 Tracie reached out to me to capture photos for her and her soon-to-be fiancé's engagement celebrations. They had an engagement tea ceremony planned for mid November and wanted some photos to display at the party. Her vision board was totally up my alley: super editorial, studio vibes with a spot light being her "must have" request. As many who read my blog know, I was a fashion and editorial photographer for most of my career before slowing down a bit in the past two years to focus on couples and weddings. Needless to say, any photoshoot inquiry that combines these two passions of mine immediately fuels my excitement.
Tracie found a studio with a spotlight: 621 Studios in Philadelphia and we met there on an October morning. The session went flawlessly and we had so much fun playing with the different lighting, posing, and listening to music. We said our goodbyes and parted ways with an assurance I would have their photos back in time for printing.
Imagine my surprise when I heard from Jay just one week later! While him and Tracie had planned their engagement for their tea ceremony, he wanted to wow her with a last minute surprise proposal. He was renting another studio in Philadelphia that weekend and wanted the moment captured - of course I said yes! So much fun getting to know these two through their two sessions with me in such a short period of time. I am forever grateful to be able to capture such special moments for my couples.
